Mariana Cancel is a dedicated legal assistant with over five years of experience supporting attorneys in litigation, case management, and legal operations. She currently serves at Brownlee, Whitlow & Praet, PLLC. Mariana is highly skilled in organizing complex case files through efficient digital systems, preparing pleadings and motions, and ensuring timely and accurate court filings. Her experience also includes tracking billing, collaborating with internal departments, and supporting firm initiatives and legal proceedings from inception through resolution.

Prior to her current role, Mariana worked at Young Moore and Henderson, P.A. in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she strengthened her experience in litigation support and case management. She also served as a Litigation Assistant at Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Company in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, managing high-volume caseloads, coordinating with courts, counsel, and experts, and training incoming staff. Mariana began her legal career at Gonzalez & Cartwright, P.A., where she developed a strong foundation in client relations, administrative support, and case coordination. Bilingual in Spanish and recognized for her attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to thrive under pressure, Mariana brings a proactive and organized approach to supporting legal teams and delivering high-quality work.

Mariana enjoys planning and designing meaningful events, often channeling her creativity into organizing memorable celebrations and experiences for her family. She is deeply family-oriented and values spending quality time with her children, creating traditions, and fostering a warm, supportive environment.

She is also passionate about personal and professional growth, with a strong interest in the legal field and continued development of her skills. She is committed to supporting Latinx youth in pursuing higher education and greater opportunities. In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking, reading, staying organized, exploring new ideas, and engaging in activities that promote balance, creativity, and overall well-being.
